The sweet and tangy flavor of the BBQ pork is so tempting, you are sure to be snacking on this every chance you get! We love to pile this pulled pork on sandwich buns and top it with a generous helping of my Best Ever Coleslaw, but it's so versatile, you are only limited by your imagination when it comes to enjoying it.

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe Tips

  • The pork cooks for about 8 hours in the slow cooker, so be sure to toss it in the slow cooker early in the day, season it, and pour in a 12 ounce can of your favorite root beer. It will only take you about 5 minutes to get this going and then you put the lid on the slow cooker, set it on low, and forget it until the pork shreds easily.
  • About 8 hours later, the pork should shred easily. Shred the pork and pour in a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce. I use a sweet and spicy sauce.
  • Give it a taste and add more salt and pepper as needed. I also like to mix in some cilantro, but if you aren't sure everyone is going to like the cilantro, I recommend serving it on the side as a topping.
