Over the years, I have learned to keep it simple with easy recipes like these Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders, as well as make-ahead recipes like our homemade Macaroni Salad, Avocado Lime Cheesecake for dessert, and refreshing Fresh Squeezed Lemonade to wash it all down! Keeping it simple allows me to relax and enjoy the party! That's a good thing!

Oh my, these look incredible. I never thought about using potato rolls as sliders. I'm going to have to buy some and try them out!
ReplyDeleteWe love them and use them all the time! They are the perfect size and so tasty too! I hope you like them as much as we do, Michele. Thanks for stopping by :) Have a super weekend!
DeleteI love Martin's! Sadly their products aren't sold here, so I make sure to bring some home when I visit Pittsburgh.
ReplyDeleteThat's a total bummer, Susan! Maybe you can ask your grocer to get them, but definitely a good idea to stock up when you visit :) Thanks for stopping by! Have a super week ~Marion
Deletedo the bottoms get soggy if you cook them and they are not eatting for a few hours or possible the next day?
DeleteHi Kerry, we haven't had any issues with them getting soggy. On busy days, I've made them up for snacking throughout the day with no issues. I hope that helps! Have a super weekend!
DeleteI made of trial run of this recipe yesterday, doing 400 for son's wedding. I substituted spiral ham, american cheese, and omitted the poppy seeds. They loved them, the bottoms were crisp. Other recipes I had been looking at called for up to a cup of butter per 12 rolls, which adds up quickly cost-wise, and my son detests soggy bread. This recipe was perfect, almost a conglomeration of all the recipes I had been looking online for, at minimal cost. There were no complaints ,AT ALL, and my son took the remainder to work with him to share. Thank you for providing this recipe. I appreciate that it is specifically for the potato rolls I had bought, and so easy. Great job!
DeleteJanet you totally made my day with this comment! I'm so happy these tasty little sandwiches were hit for you! 400 is a lot!! It's a good thing they are easy!! What a great idea to make these for the wedding. They are perfect to feed a big crowd. So happy it all worked out well <3

Thanks! We love 'em a lot!
DeleteCan you make these up in advance and bake them the next day? I was thinking of a fast and easy meal for Sunday after church. We always have an uninvited guest and I'm really getting tired of going overboard on Sunday dinner when we prefer to just relax and have simple things to piece on. This would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteHello! Yes, you can absolutely make them up in advance, and I think this would be a wonderful treat to have on hand. I hope you enjoy these tasty little bites as much as we do! Thanks for the great question. Have a wonderful week ~Marion
DeleteMade these last night for our Christmas get together and they were a total hit! Unfortunately, we didn't have the brand of cheese or rolls here in MN so we improvised and they were amazing! Enough leftover for lunch today!
ReplyDeleteCould you put pineapple in them?
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply, but absolutely, pineapple is a great addition and can just be added with the ham and cheese and baked as normal. Thanks for the suggestion! Have a super week ~Marion
DeleteMade for lunch today.used baby swiss on half and shredded cheddar on half.Didn't have sliced.,DH doesn't like swiss on his.12 pack yeasty rolls-as labeled- from Wal-Mart bakery. Followed recipe exactly. used omeyer all natural lunch ham, all I had. Poured sauce overall.Didn't see anywhere to spray casserole dish so I didnt.13x9 glass lasagna dish.baked 17 min.they were great!! I thought bread be soggy on the bottom, but not so! I'm thinking of pineapple version and also turkey bacon cheese.Oscar Meyer has wonderful Natural smoked turkey .and don't normally like turkey.this is so wonderful, you can get creative in proteins and cheeses, still so simple!! Love love it! I've tried lots pinned recipes, this is one of best yet! what a great lunch with half left for tomorrow too yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be making some of these for my daughters 21st. Will be trialling a batch today. They look lovely hot, I'm just wondering are they just as nice cold?
ReplyDeleteWe like them warm or cold, Paul. Warm right out the oven is best, but on the rare occasion they don't get gobbled up right away, we still enjoy them after they've cooled off. They can also be warmed gently in the microwave if preferred. I would go very gently though as microwaves do weird things to bread.
DeleteI hope everyone enjoys them and the party is a success. Happy 21st to your daughter! ~Marion
