Cranberry Sauce is one of those things the picky kid in me would never eat, but the adult in me LOVES! It really was love at first taste, and now I put this stuff on just about everything.

One of my favorite Thanksgiving leftovers is a roasted turkey sandwich dripping with cranberry sauce! yummmm I can't wait!

If you've never made your own Homemade Cranberry Sauce because you thought it would be too difficult - think again! It's super easy! All you need is fresh cranberries, orange juice, and sugar and about 10 minutes! You can even make this up the day before and store in the fridge until ready to use!

In a saucepan set over medium heat, dissolve 3/4 cup of sugar in 3/4 cup of orange juice and then add 12 ounces of fresh cranberries. After a several minutes the cranberries will start pop, pop, popping! Once you hear them, cook for just another minute or two until you can easily smoosh them with the back of your wooden spoon.

Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt. Give the cranberry sauce a little taste and adjust the flavor to your liking. Smoosh the cranberries to your liking or leave them chunky. It's totally up to you! Cranberry Sauce is delicious warm or cold, so serve it how you like it and enjoy!

Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 12 ounces of fresh cranberries
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, dissolve 3/4 cup sugar in 3/4 cup orange juice. Add the 12 ounce bag of cranberries and heat for about 5 minutes until the cranberries start popping! It always makes me jump when they pop. I let them pop for a minute or so and then remove from heat. Add a pinch of salt and adjust flavors to your liking.
  2. Allow to cool and the sauce will thicken nicely. Add more orange juice if you like a more saucy sauce. Enjoy!
Yield: about 3 cups
Prep Time: 5 mins.
Cook time: 5 mins.
Total time: 10 mins.
