Easy Chocolate Ganache Recipe

Chocolate Ganache sounds like a fancy recipe that would be difficult to make, but you'll be surprised at just how easy it is! It's so easy, it's dangerous!

You can whip this up in less than 5 minutes! In the microwave even! Sure, you can use the stove-top if you prefer - that's not a problem at all. It will just take an extra minute or two. No worries!

This recipe for Chocolate Ganache is so easy and versatile, I use it in many different ways! I recently had the neighbors over for a get together before all the kids head back to college, and I served this as a dip on a fruit tray for dessert. It was delicious! Especially with cherries and strawberries! I also have a new recipe coming up for ice cream week where I used this ganache recipe to make a no churn Chocolate Ganache Ice Cream that is out of this world delicious, and this is the same Chocolate Ganache recipe I use in my SNICKERS Nachos and S'mores!!

It's also fantastic to dip just about anything in! I recommend dipping a salty potato chip in this ooey gooey chocolate! It tastes just like the gourmet chocolate covered potato chips from Grimaldi's! That's a local shop that has become famous for their chocolate covered chips!

Can you believe it is just 3 ingredients and less than 5 minutes to make this decadent treat that can be used in so many different ways?!! It's like a super sauce!

Of course, it is amazing on top of ice cream too! Above is my No Churn Chocolate Ganache Ice Cream I made for Ice Cream Week!! Oh yes indeedy! Ice Cream Week 2014 kicked off on Monday, August 18th! Over 20 bloggers shared their tastiest ice cream recipes all week long!!

Something else you might not know about Chocolate Ganache is mind blowing, so brace yourself! This amazingly rich chocolaty concoction is relatively low in carbs! Minds blowing all over the place right now!! It's true! Ganache is made with heavy cream and bitter sweet chocolate. That's it! Now when you use it to top ice cream that changes things a bit <grin>, but if you mix some of this into Mascarpone cheese you make a fairly low carb chocolate treat! Check out my Easy Low-Carb Chocolate Mousse.

Easy Chocolate Ganache Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • kosher or sea salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 cup heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl. I use the measuring cup I measured it in. You want this fairly hot. Microwave until it starts to bubble or heat on the stove top until it just starts to boil.
  2. Pour the hot cream over 9 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until smooth. Add a 1/2 teaspoon of kosher or sea salt and stir to combine. Give it a taste and more salt as desired.
Yield: about 2 cups
Prep Time: 5 mins.
Total time: 5 mins.

    1. Thanks so much, Mary Ellen! I would LOVE an extra pair of hands - preferably ones that aren't so shaky! I had to use the tripod for these shots and hold the spoon myself which is why the photos are a little blurred, but what can you do?! Using Madison's camera for these helped me out a bit - she has a lovely Nikon with a nice lens. She's had it forever, but it sure gets sharper photos than my usual which is a point and shoot

  7. I bet this ganache would substitute into your low carb peanut butter pie recipe nicely for those looking at a low carb treat without the PB!
